Motorists travelling Northfield Road between Bowen Road and the Nanaimo Parkway are advised to plan ahead to avoid traffic delays.
Rock blasting for construction of a new Mid Island Co-op card lock gas bar is scheduled July 23 to Aug. 14 at the southwest corner of Northfield and Boxwood roads.
For worker and public safety, closures of Northfield Road lasting about 10 minutes are needed during blasting times anticipated for 9:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Ten-minute delays are expected.
Drivers are asked to allow extra time for commutes and to obey all construction signage and traffic control personnel.
