A COVID-19 outbreak at Nanaimo’s Eden Gardens was limited to one staff member and one resident, and the outbreak is now over.

Island Health declared Monday that the outbreak, declared Feb. 14, is now over as there are no COVID-19 cases related to the outbreak.

“The team at Eden Gardens is to be commended for their exceptional work ensuring the outbreak did not spread further and continuing to provide high-quality care under challenging circumstances,” noted an Island Health press release.

Visits, admissions and patient transfers can now resume at the facility. Dining will also resume, with COVID-19 safety protocols in place.
