A Nanaimo couple hopes those responsible for a break and enter in their Eighth Street home will show some compassion and return at least one stolen item.

Thieves broke into Peter and Vanessa Betcher’s house Thursday morning, stealing a Wii console, assorted  games, an Acer laptop and an engagement ring.

But, it was the theft of a Toshiba laptop that broke the couple’s hearts. The computer held every photo (more than 2,000) of the couple’s 10-month-old son, Saylor.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or www.nanaimocrimestoppers.com.
