City of Nanaimo reminds residents to keep pets quiet

NANAIMO – Loud pets can disturb the peace and breach city noise bylaws.

The city is reminding pet owners that sheltering or keeping animals or birds that persistently cry, squawk, bark or howl is prohibited and are considered a source of noise pollution.

Regulations are in place to ensure residents can enjoy peace and quiet in their neighbourhoods and are enforced by the city on a per complaint basis.
