The single-vehicle crash happened a little after 1 a.m. Tuesday in Nanaimo

A car rolled off the road and landed upside-down in a front yard along Hammond Bay Road.

The single-vehicle crash happened a little after 1 a.m. Tuesday near Ivy Lane. It appeared the driver had been heading northeast at the time of the accident.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was taken to hospital with unknown injuries, said Nanaimo RCMP.

Traffic on Hammond Bay Road was closed in both directions while while crews cleared the scene.
