Car crashed into restaurant windows

No injuries reported after car crashes through front windows of downtown Nanaimo restaurant.

The appetite for a midday meal was curbed for some patrons at Port Place Centre when a car crashed into the windows of The Pantry restaurant Monday.

The accident happened shortly before noon when a Ford Taurus station wagon hit a curb while it was being parked and then continued across the sidewalk before crashing into the front windows of the restaurant.

An elderly man driving the car and his female passenger were examined by B.C. Ambulances crews. They had no reported injuries nor were any injuries reported by restaurant patrons or staff.

Police are investigating what caused the mishap.
