One woman was taken to hospital after her car collided with a dump truck this afternoon (June 15).

The crash happened at the corner of Rutherford and Butcher roads shortly after 1:30 p.m.

The cause of the accident is under investigation, but firefighters at the scene said they had attended another collision at that section of Rutherford Road, which is on a steep slope and has a 90-degree corner, about 30 minutes prior.

There was heavy rain and it was windy at the time of the crash.

No one else was injured.

A city works crew was called out to put sand on diesel oil that was leaking from one of the vehicles.
