Two road bikes were stolen from tourists and Nanaimo RCMP is investigating the theft and hoping the public can help locate the bikes so they can be returned to their owners.

According to an RCMP press release, the theft occurred sometime overnight Wednesday, Nov. 10, from a parking lot located in the 700 block of Third Street.

The owners of the bikes are visiting for Quebec and did not have access to serial numbers. The two bikes are a green Peugeot, single-speed with two different tires, and a red 10-speed Marinoni with orange pedals and an expensive brown leather seat.

Anyone with information about this theft or the location of the bikes is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345, and quote file No. 2021-42044.
