Beban Park to get new 20-year master plan

NANAIMO – Existing master plan for Beban Park is about to expire.

Nanaimo’s largest recreation facility is about to get a new master plan.

The existing master plan for Beban Park is about to expire after 20 years, so a new guiding document will be developed for future use within the park boundary, which includes all of the 20-plus public amenities and facilities.

According to a city release, the new Beban Park master plan will only be relevant if it reflects the community’s vision, so the planning staff is hosting two public input sessions; the first one is Tuesday (June 4) from 5-9 p.m. at the Beban Park Social Centre, while the second one is scheduled for June 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Altrusa Playground at Beban Park.

Everybody is invited to participate.
