The B.C. Coroners Service and Nanaimo RCMP have released the identity of a man whose remains were discovered in early July.

The remains have been identified as those of Marlon Orozco-Castillo, 40, of Nanaimo who was reported missing in May.

Orozco-Castillo's family and next-of-kin have been notified of his death, according to police.

Castillo’s remains were found the morning of July 4 by city workers who were clearing brush on a wooded lot near the corner of Bowen and Rosstown roads.

The resulting investigation by the Nanaimo RCMP and B.C. Coroners Service found no evidence of foul play in the death.

The coroners service continues its investigation.
