B.C. Coroners Service confirms identity of cyclist

NANAIMO – Cyclist who died in collision with bus has been identified.

The B.C. Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died in a bicycle incident in Nanaimo Monday

Norman Jack Ellison, 36, of Nanaimo was riding his bicycle westbound on Albert St. just east of Pine Street at about 4:45 p.m. when he collided with a Regional District of Nanaimo Transit bus.

Ellison was rushed ambulance to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, but died there from his injuries several hours later.

Ellison's family have been notified of his death and the B.C. Coroners Service and RCMP are continuing their investigation into the fatality.
