Nanaimo Mounties are looking for two men accused of 19 fraud charges who did not show up for their day in court.

Kayman Winter, 22, Corey Leblanc, 24, and a 43-year-old woman were arrested in early December.

According to police, Winter and Leblanc allegedly tried to purchase more than $1,100 worth of goods with a Visa card at the Brooks Landing Home Hardware. When the receipt print out indicated a MasterCard had been used, staff queried the men, who grabbed the card and fled.

Police followed up on the men’s vehicle description given by store employees and arrested the suspect a short time afterward. Investigators found multiple credit cards, stolen identification and laptop computers, all allegedly used to produce fraudulent credit cards.

The suspect were also linked to several other Nanaimo fraud investigations.

Winter and Leblanc were released following a bail hearing Dec. 8, but did not show up for their next Nanaimo provincial court appearance Jan. 10.

Winter is First Nations, 5-foot-11, 170 pounds with short black hair and brown eyes. He has tattoos of faces on his right forearm and a cross on his upper left arm.

Leblanc is Caucasian, 6-foot-1, 150 pounds with short blond hair and blue eyes. He has a tattoo of a skull on his upper right arm and letters tattooed on his right hand. Both men might be residing in the Lower Mainland.
