Another case of COVID-19 has been reported at Cedar Elementary School.

According to a Nanaimo-Ladysmith school district social media post, the potential exposure dates are March 8 and 10 and Island Health has completed contact tracing. Exposures had also been reported in the south-end school in February.

Among other schools listed on Island Health’s COVID-19 exposure list, Mountain View and Bayview elementary schools and Nanaimo District, Wellington and Ladysmith secondary schools.

Schools are removed from the list 14 days after the most recent exposure date, Island Health said on its website.

In related news, the B.C. government recently announced Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools will be the lead district in the region for a COVID-19 rapid response team. The district will work with health authority staff to review significant school exposure events and make recommendations to support schools to enhance their safety plans, if necessary, the province said.
