New categories added to annual survey of Nanaimo

More and more happens in Nanaimo every year. More businesses open, more parks are created and more activities are offered for residents and tourists to keep interested and busy in the Harbour City.

To reflect that, we’ve added more as well – more categories to our annual Best of the City reader survey.

Best of the City is an annual survey we pose to our readers to tell us their favourite things about Nanaimo. Best Steakhouse and Best Place to Get a Nanaimo Bar are popular categories.

This year, however, we’ve added Best Music Trivia, Best Barbershop and Best Veterinary Clinic, just to name a few.

The survey, which is available to enter right now on our website, will be open until May 14. After that, we’ll compile the results and reveal the Top 3 picks in each category, which will be revealed in our annual special publication called Best of the City in June.

In that publication, we’ll not only feature the survey winners, but also some of our favourite places, spaces and activities in the Harbour City.

In addition, winning businesses will receive a plaque for a first-place win, which they can display in their establishment. Second and third-place winners will receive a certificate. Be sure to check out our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/nanaimobulletin) to see businesses presented with their plaques and certificates after the winners are announced.

But it’s not just Nanaimo businesses who win in Best of the City – everyone who enters will be eligible to win a kayaking trip for six people around Newcastle Island, provided by Alberni Outpost, and a $250 gas card from Mid-Island Co-op.
