Port Alberni RCMP have renewed their efforts to search for Trevor Ryan Oakley, 34, after a woman he was thought to be visiting was located in Nanaimo without Oakley.

Oakley was reported missing on Jan. 17 by his mother, who had last heard from him on Jan. 3 when he was known to be staying at the Port Alberni Shelter. RCMP initially thought he might be travelling to see Patricia Roseanne Nataucappo, either in Nanaimo or Gabriola Island.

"A (Nanaimo RCMP) member was in contact with Nataucappo yesterday," Port Alberni RCMP Cpl. Amelia Hayden said. "He was not with her. We're still following up with her."

Oakley's family is worried about him and would like to hear from him, Hayden said.

"It's just unusual. He's not usually out of touch this long, which is why the concern. We really need the public's help, even through a tip. The family is worried."

Oakley is described as a Caucasian male, 183 cm or six feet tall, 82 kg or 181 lbs with short greying dark brown hair, hazel eyes and facial stubble.

Anyone who may have information on Oakley’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Port Alberni RCMP at 250-723-2424 or call Alberni Valley Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
