7-Eleven in Nanaimo robbed at gunpoint

NANAIMO – Cash taken after suspect wields firearm at 7-Eleven location on Bowen Road.

The 7-Eleven on Bowen Road was robbed early Thursday when a man walked in, brandished a small handgun and demanded money from the till.

The robbery happened at about 4:30 a.m. and the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

A police officer and a police dog unit responded, but were unable to track the suspect, described as Caucasian, about 5-foot-10, with a slim build and blue/green eyes. He wore jeans, a dress style black jacket, black and yellow gloves and a black balaclava with red stitching around the mouth. He also wore grey work boots.
