Passion meets purpose at Nanaimo Hearing Clinic

New team member Giselle Rodriguez shares why this Island clinic stood out in her search for the perfect fit

Meet Giselle Rodríguez, the newest audiologist at Nanaimo Hearing Clinic - dedicated to helping you hear your best every day!

When Giselle Rodriguez was considering where to work on Vancouver Island, she knew she wanted to join a clinic that shared her passion for personalized care and building long-term relationships with clients. She also wanted the flexibility to offer a variety of hearing aid styles and brands to help clients find the perfect fit.

“When I spoke with Hanan and Shelagh from Nanaimo Hearing, I knew I had found the right clinic - and the right people - who shared my vision,” Rodriguez says.

Originally from Chile, Rodriguez first settled in Whitehorse, where she worked with the Yukon’s only private hearing practice, as well as with the territorial government. While she appreciated the freedom to offer a range of hearing aid brands to her clients, the fast-paced environment left little time for meaningful connection.

“While the government program was great at ensuring access to hearing aids, I personally prefer building long-term relationships and providing ongoing care to help clients hear their best at all times,” she explains.

Rodriguez and her family moved to B.C. in August 2024, and after completing the necessary retraining to transfer her credentials as an audiologist, she began searching for a clinic that aligned with her values. That search ended when she met Hanan and Shelagh.

“Hanan and Shelagh are incredible people, and we share the same values - putting clients first, offering choice, and building trust through long-term care,” Rodriguez says.

Rodriguez has now been part of the Nanaimo Hearing Clinic team for eight months and is a strong advocate for the clinic’s unique Always Hear Well Program - a unique long-term care initiative designed to support clients throughout their hearing health journey.

“Our Always Hear Well Program really stands out. It’s all about ensuring clients feel supported, every step of the way,” she says. “It also reflects Hanan and Shelagh’s commitment to continuous learning and expanding the services we offer, so we can always meet the evolving needs of our clients.”

Rodriguez is excited about her new role and looks forward to continuing to build relationships in her Island community.
