Nanaimo high school boys' basketball teams were unbeatable in tournament action this past weekend.

The Dover Bay Dolphins won another high-profile tournament on the mainland, while the Wellington Wildcats and Nanaimo District Islanders co-hosted the Hub City Classic and won all their games in their respective brackets.

Dover Bay, a week after winning the Tsumura Basketball Invitational in Langley, were victorious at the No Regrets tournament on the North Shore. Dover ended with an 87-71 win against St. George's in the final on Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Handsworth Secondary School gym.

Meanwhile, Wellington and NDSS invited teams from around the Island and mainland for their tourney at Wellington Secondary School and Nanaimo District Secondary School. The Hub City Classic didn't have a playoff round, with teams instead getting guaranteed opponents and game times.

The Wildcats blew out Kwalikum 101-41, beat Salish 96-44, hammered Mission 107-56 and finished up with an 83-49 win against Edward Milne. NDSS beat Alberni 108-60, defeated Mission 98-70, handled Salish 93-61 and then edged Carihi 51-43. Of the three undefeated teams at the Hub City Classic, Welly had the best points differential, followed by Mark Isfeld and then NDSS.
