B.C. Minor Baseball’s equivalent of the World Series was contested in Nanaimo this past weekend.

The association’s U18 college prep division brought representatives from around B.C. for tournament action Friday through Sunday, July 19-21, at Serauxmen Stadium and the Third Street ball fields.

The host Vancouver Island Mariners went 1-2 at the tourney, falling 5-1 to Ridge Meadows, blowout out North Fraser 19-9 and then losing 3-2 to Kamloops. Kamloops defeated Ridge Meadows 3-2 to win the championship.
