Two teenagers received minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle in front of Ladysmith Intermediate School on Jan. 19. They were crossing near the crosswalk in front of the school around 3:30 p.m.

Reduced visibility from the rain could have been a factor in the accident, according to Cpl. Dave Fish with Ladysmith RCMP.

“Alcohol and speed were not a factor,” he said. The matter is still under RCMP investigation and he said officers are still gathering witness statements.

Fish said the driver was cooperative with officers.

Two ambulances attended the scene along with RCMP. Ladysmith Fire/Rescue was called for first response.
