Thieves who apparently don’t support Canada’s veterans stole from a Royal Canadian Legion branch in Nanaimo last week.
According to a Nanaimo RCMP press release, four sheds located on the grounds of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 10 Harewood were broken into between 2-3:30 a.m. on Aug. 14.
Two men with faces obscured were captured on surveillance cameras entering the property, breaking the lock to the surrounding fence, and then breaking the locks off the sheds. RCMP noted that the images were grainy and “not very useful,” but described the first subject as “in his late 30s, wearing a light-coloured shirt and dark pants,” and the second suspect as wearing a dark jacket and that walking “with a noticeable limp.”
Stolen from the Legion was an unopened Travel Q portable gas grill.
Anyone with information on the suspects or the stolen property is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345, and reference to file No. 2023-28231.
