Suspect steals stereo from Nanaimo store, returns soon after to steal another

Nanaimo RCMP are looking to identify an individual suspected of stealing two sound systems from the same store in less than an hour.

According to a police press release, the alleged thefts happened between 4-5 p.m. on Dec. 6 at London Drugs in Nanaimo North Town Centre.

Investigators reviewed the store’s video surveillance footage which showed the suspect allegedly leaving the business with the first stereo and then, less than an hour later, the second one. The total value of the items taken was approximately $1,800.

Anyone who recognizes the individual is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345 and refer to file No. 2023-42226.
