The Regional District of Nanaimo seeks feedback from Electoral Area A residents about how to proceed with a community park in Cassidy.

The 1,659-square-metre park on Hallberg Road was purchased by the regional district in January 2024, and according to a press release, input is now being sought on how to "shape the use for [the] new park, including how it should be developed and what features should be included."

Staff will use the information from the survey to formulate concepts for consideration, which will be presented to the public for further feedback in the summer. Input will be accepted until May 1.

The land, situated at 3483 Hallberg Rd., was purchased for $420,000 in reserves from the 2024 budget, the RDN previously stated, and was selected "due to its position in the neighbourhood, land profile and existing open space."

The RDN said it is Cassidy's first-ever community park.
