Crash sends SUV tumbling off side of the highway south of Nanaimo

Driver taken to hospital with relatively minor injuries, say crews on scene at Morden Road

A driver was taken to hospital after a crash sent an SUV tumbling off the highway and down an embankment.

Cranberry Volunteer Fire Department, RCMP and B.C. Ambulance Service rushed to the Trans-Canada Highway at Morden Road south of Nanaimo just before noon on Monday, Nov. 27.

A crash involving a Dodge pickup and a Toyota sport-utility vehicle caused the SUV to go off the roadway before it ended up on its side on a walkway along the highway.

Crews said the woman who had been driving the SUV was transported to hospital with reportedly minor injuries.

Highway traffic hasn’t been significantly impacted.
