The Yellow Point Drama Group will present two plays by Canadian playwright Norm Foster this weekend.
The first, My Narrator, is produced by Moira Fox and directed by Christian Ostaffy. It follows the characters Lacy and Miles as they “stumble through their uncertain romance while the voices in their heads accompany them to hilarious results,” according to a news release from the drama group.
It is Ostaffy’s debut as a director after being involved with theatre on Vancouver Island since 2011.
Gordon McInnis is director for the second play, The Death of Me. He is a seasoned actor, playwright and director who said he was immediately drawn to the story after reading Foster’s book.
“John, an all-around Mr. Nice Guy, is given a reprieve from his premature demise by the Angel of Death,” the press release said. “But, as part of the bargain he must complete a task that is the antithesis of his good-natured demeanour. And his fate hangs in the balance.”
The pair of plays are titled One-Actmanship and will be performed together with seven performances from March 14-30 at Cedar Community Hall. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for students under 19. On opening night, a pair of adult tickets can be purchased for $35.
