The women from Kill Matilda take their music and their zombie killing seriously. They play the Cambie Friday (Jan. 20).

The Cambie plays host as Eye of Odin and Lost in the Revolution join Kill Matilda on their mission to play music – and kill zombies.

Charged with the task of clearing the nation of a spreading zombie epidemic after a life or death encounter one fateful night, Kill Matilda is rising to the challenge of zombie management.

Specially trained to combat these unruly creatures, Kill Matilda is armed with two incomparable and indestructible tools: their bone-crushing music and front woman Dusty Exner’s famous cookies.

The duo is touring across Canada in support of their new full-length album I Want Revenge.

For anyone who chooses to tempt fate and not pick up I Want Revenge, or anyone who opts to not support Kill Matilda’s zombie-cide mission, the women warn: Kill Matilda may be coming for you next.

The bands play Friday (Jan. 20), beginning at 10 p.m. Cover is $5.

On Saturday (Jan. 21), The Paisley Eye and Foreign Influence join the Chris Busche Band on the Cambie’s stage.

Busche started music at the age of 11 on pots and pans.

He was encouraged by his parents when they purchased his first drum set days after he showed interest. Growing up in Nanaimo, he played in a band called Southgate with childhood friends and a few replacements along the way.

Busche was drummer and lead vocalist which was next to unheard of for the genre they were playing. The band gave him a base to land his next project on.

Always showing interest in guitar but never taking the time to practise, Busche took the chance when Southgate parted ways. Always joking about doing a solo project this was the perfect opportunity.

Busche took his music to a whole different level by breaking barriers he had previously set up and stepping into many different genres along the way.

With completion of recording The Walls we Build, Busche headed out on a brief tour of the west coast. He is currently at work on a new album.

Music also starts at 10 p.m., with a cover charge of $7.

The Cambie is on Victoria Crescent in downtown Nanaimo.
