Two dozen artists working in various mediums will hold a fine art and artisan show with proceeds going towards the Holy Trinity Catholic Church this weekend.

Event organizer and exhibiting artist Barbara Anne Scott said the Trinity Fall Art Show has been in the works since the beginning of the year, with the money raised going toward the church’s building.

The show will include paintings, pottery, photography, fabric arts, jewelry, stone carvings, wood crafts, glass art, art cards, print-making and more.

Scott said she anticipates a quality show since the exhibiting central Vancouver Island artists are all professional or semi-professional.

“We wanted a wide spectrum because I think the public are more interested when they can have a variety of arts,” she said. “We’re doing a fundraiser for the church, but helping artists at the same time. So it’s a win-win situation for everybody … For artists, it’s very hard to find decent exhibition space in Nanaimo, so when the church, which has a large hall, opened this up for artists we thought this was a great opportunity for us all.”

The Trinity Fall Art Show will also include a refreshment area, as well as raffles for gift baskets of donated items from Nanaimo-area businesses.

It will be held from 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, and from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 23, at 6234 Spartan Rd.
