A reading club designed to inspire and create innovation – that’s the basis behind one local organization’s upcoming reading circle.

On Aug. 28 Startup Nanaimo will be hosting their Reading Circle at the Nanaimo Museum.

“We thought it was a great way to bring all the key people in town, all the heads of the various organizations, together to talk about various different subjects about how we can improve Nanaimo,” said Kelsey Wolff, Startup Nanaimo co-founder and book circle organizer.

The upcoming reading circle, which is the third one organized by Startup Nanaimo, features a networking session.

Attendees will then decide on a book, which they will read and discuss in future meet-ups.

“In the first one we were able to create monthly meet-ups for entrepreneurs and for people in the community,” Wolff said.

Startup Nanaimo’s reading circle takes place Aug. 28 at the Nanaimo Museum between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Admission is $20. Payment can be made online or at the event.
