Pioneering folk group reunites for Canadian tour

NANAIMO - Stringband performs 40th anniversary show on Gabriola Wednesday (July 17).

Stringband was one of Canada’s pioneering folk groups and is reuniting for a 40th anniversary tour, which includes a performance on Gabriola.

The group includes Bob Bossin, Marie-Lynn Hammond, Ben Mink, Calvin Cairnes and Dennis Nichol.

The Gabriola performance is Wednesday (July 17) at the Gabriola Community Hall at 7:30 p.m.

The group is known for blazing a trail on the independent touring circuit and pioneering indie recording. It’s been more than a decade since the members have come together to perform as a group.

Tickets are $20/ $16 for youth under 16 and are available at the Village Liquor Store, at the door or by e-mailing info@luluperformingarts.ca.
