After selling out a pair of blues and comedy shows, a new Gabriola Island concert series is turning its attention to cowboy music.
On Nov. 20 Juno winner and Canadian Country Hall of Famer Gary Fjellgaard will be joined by fellow Gabriolan Nathan Tinkham and Ed Peekeekoot from the Cowichan Valley for A Cowboy Affair at the Gabriola Community Hall.
The event is part of the Gabriola Live concert series. Program director Dave Teichroeb said the goal is to encourage people to take in live music, “because really it’s the only way to really enjoy it.”
“Nobody’s been able to perform for so long, so to get all the different types and styles of performers out has been a real thrill,” he said.
The Gabriola Live series runs until the end of March.
WHAT’S ON … A Cowboy Affair at Gabriola Community Hall, 2200 South Rd., on Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. Tickets $30, available here.
