The peeling bark of the arbutus tree is one of the inspirations found on the West Coast for artists Nana Cook and Leona Petrak.
The artists have their work on display at downtown Nanaimo Art Gallery June 20-July 8. An opening reception is set for June 22, noon to 2 p.m. Cook and Petrak will also be in the gallery during Nanaimo Art Walk June 23-24, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
