Nanaimo students join Juno winner in concert

NANAIMO – Norman Foote performs with students from Brechin and Park Avenue elementary schools.

A Juno Award-winning children’s entertainer gets some support from Nanaimo students for a concert at the Port Theatre.

Norman Foote brings songs from his new album Always Be Yourself to the stage Monday (Nov. 4) at 7 p.m.

The Vancouver-based performer created a special niche and amassed a cross-generational following by mixing clever hooks, witty wordplay and comedy into his music.

Everyone laughs and everyone sings in this one-of-a-kind performance featuring Norman’s ‘animated wall of sound,’ featuring singers from Brechin and Park Avenue elementary schools.

Foote has performed and worked with millions of children throughout North America, inspiring creativity through his songs, stories and innovative props.

Foote’s previous album, Love My New Shirt, was recorded in Nanaimo and won a Juno Award in 2010. He has written and recorded songs for Disney, CBC and Max and Ruby, and won accolades from U.S.-based Parents’ Choice.

Tickets for Foote’s performance are $14, or $12 for groups of three or more. Please call 250-754-8550 or visit www.porttheatre.com.
