The Nanaimo Fiddle Society is hosting its inaugural Fiddle Festival.

The festival runs Friday to Sunday (March 31 to April 2). The event kicks off with a number of adjudicated fiddle sessions. Performers of various ages will play for adjudicators Gordon Stobbe and J.J. Guy, who will offer feedback to help the individuals improve.

The public is invited to attend the adjudications, which are held March 31 at 1:30 p.m. for individual and twin fiddle performers and at 6:30 p.m. for group performances. The sessions are held at Christ Community Church, located at 2221 Bowen Rd. Admission is by donation.

The Fiddle Festival Concert features fiddlers Stobbe, Guy, Trish and Geoff Horracks along with pianists Annie Avery and Grant Simpson.

Tickets are $15 available at http://nanaimofiddlesociety.org or at the door.
