Caroline James is determined to share her creative voice with the world.

For 10 years James didn’t paint and then the artistic spark came alive. She is showing her latest exhibit, Guide You Home, at Gabriola’s Keep Calm and Carry On Gallery Friday (May 3) 7-9 p.m. and Saturday (May 4) 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There will be a question and answer session with the artist  at 1 p.m.

The exhibit is the first body of work she has showed in more than two years.

“Powerful beginnings occur in stillness. I spent a lot of time sitting in the studio just listening, waiting for the voice when I started. First I heard, I literally heard these words, ‘collage, start with collage’, then ‘draw’, then ‘oil’...and so it began,” said James in a press release. “The content of the work, as always, reflects my own personal journey through life in this moment and also larger archetypal ideas, though I have no intention to do either. It just happens.”
