Hip hop musicians from up and down the Island and beyond are looking forward to being part of a full night of beats.

Hoodstock Entertainment presents Spring Bling this Saturday, March 12, at the Queen’s Hotel.

The show will be headlined by Nanaimo’s Sirreal and Blue Satellite, but features around six hours of performances.

Darcy McBride, a.k.a. Details, is hosting the show and said after “crazy” times, musicians and audiences are looking forward to being part of live shows again.

“So we are essentially throwing a music festival indoors … for a whole day and we’re doing a massive live stream with a professional visual company. So it’s a first for Nanaimo, for sure,” McBride said.

He said most of Spring Bling’s artists are from Vancouver Island, but there are also acts from Powell River and the Fraser Valley. The lineup includes Sirreal and Blue Satellite, Details and DJ Stelo, Switch, Mr. Esquimalt, Valence, VicCity Soldiers, Midknight Society, Mo’ Dirt and DeSean Jackson, Oktiv6, Alphamics, Swivel and Katch22.

“We have a couple vocalists, some rappers, a full band for Sirreal’s set – it’s really going to be a full encompassing musical performance…” McBride said. “They’re all excited, knowing that the quality of the project and product that we put out is always of our best ability.”

WHAT’S ON … Spring Bling happens at the Queen’s on Saturday, March 12. Doors at 6 p.m., performances start at 6:30 p.m. Tickets $45 or $10 for the live stream. For tickets and more information, visit http://hoodstockentertainment.ca.
