Harmac supports musical on logging

A musical about the golden era of logging on the West Coast earned a title sponsor.

Harmac Pacific is the title sponsor for Good Timber, a musical theatre production about the impact culturally and economically on logging in the Pacific Northwest.

Good Timber, presented by Other Guys Theatre Company, celebrates the legendary bulls of the woods, hookers, hiriggers, fallers, whistle punks and locie engineers from a time when loggers climbed trees.

The rollicking musical revue is a marriage of songs, stories and poetry and is inspired by a dog-eared copy of Rhymes of the Western Logger, a compilation of logging camp poetry by Robert E. Swanson.

“Good Timber is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the spirit of our business, our worker-owners, and of our community that is so steeped in the history of the western logger,” said Harmac Pacific CEO Levi Sampson.

Good Timber runs nightly from July 12-24 at the Shaw Auditorium at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre at 7:30 p.m. Matinees run Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

Tickets $25; $22/members; $15/students. Please call 250-754-8550.
