Cuban Five documentary screens at VIU

NANAIMO – The Cuban Wives is the story of The Cuban Five, intelligence agents who have been incarcerated in the United States since 1998

The Cuban Wives reveals the compelling and tragic story of The Cuban Five, intelligence agents who have been incarcerated in the United States since 1998.

Their crime: an attempt to protect their country, Cuba, from the terrorist attacks of organizations operating from Miami.

Their wives and families, organizations such as the United Nations and Amnesty International have gathered to inform others in countries around the world about their plight.

The one-hour documentary, directed by Alberto Antonio Dandolo, will be screened at Vancouver Island University on Friday (Sept. 13), 7 p.m., in blg. 200, room 203.

A short presentation of music and poetry will complement the show, which is followed by a discussion on the film.

Admission is free.
