Country band releases debut album

The Moonshine Mollys are hosting an album release party 6:30 p.m. Saturday (June 8) at the Cedar Community Hall.

The Moonshine Mollys music is taking flight with the release of the band’s debut album Free as a Bird.

The country vocal group from Cedar is celebrating the accomplishment with a album release party Saturday (June 8) at Cedar Community Hall.

The band has four members: Cassandra Smith, Denise Gray, Rene Qualizza and Mitra Kostamo. They have been performing together since the spring of 2012.

The members love country music and sharing their passion with their fans.

“Performing is a way to connect with others, meet new friends and just share the love,” said Smith in a press release.

The doors for the release party open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 6:30 p.m. The evening features a number of musical guests including Kotarah Rivere, Verlyn Busch, James Wellmer, Gabrielle MacQueen, the Jane Doe Band, Gavin McGonville and Joel Wiggers from Braeden Marshal.

The release party will also have a concession, which will raise money for the Cedar 4-H Club. Tickets are $10 in advance, available from www.moonshinemollys.com and Harbour City Music, or $15 at the door. The band will also be performing during the Miners Picnic, located at 260 Irwin St., on June 22.
