Comedy show will benefit child development centre

Jason Hewlett performs on Thursday (Aug. 24) at the Port Theatre

There will be plenty of jokes told in the Harbour City this week.

Comedian Jason Hewlett will be performing at the Port Theatre on Thursday (Aug. 24) at 6:30 p.m. as part of Comedy for Cause, a fundraiser for the Nanaimo Child Development Centre.

Hewlett, who hails from Utah, is known for performing at corporate events, fundraisers and weddings. His performances mix music, humour and impersonations.

In 2015, Hewlett authored a heartwarming Facebook post titled called ‘I sort of cheated on my wife today,’ which talked about how he saw an attractive woman at Target, only to realize it was his wife. The post was shared over 475,000 times and received media coverage from outlets around the world.

Tickets for the event are $50-$79. For more information, please visit www.porttheatre.com/events/aug-2017/nanaimo-child-development-centre-presents-comedy-cause-jason-hewlett/
