Three theatre performances are directed specifically at children and their families

Three theatre performances are directed specifically at children and their families.

TheatreOne’s Just Kidding series opens Feb. 11 with Story Theatre’s The Magic Soup Stone, a ‘create your own adventure’ where folk and fairy tale characters invite the audience to make story-altering decisions at crucial moments of the action to create new twists on familiar adventures.

On March 17, Vancouver Opera’s production of Hansel & Gretel, a much-loved fairy tale, is told in song. With music and comedy, the 45-minute show is brought to life in an English adaptation.

The series wraps up April 21 with DuffleBag Theatre’s production of Sleeping Beauty, another interactive storytelling theatre. Audience members are invited into the show to play the main parts, making the dream of living a fairy tale come true.

Individual tickets to these events are $14, or by subscription to all three shows for $36/children; $39/adults; $120/family.
