Bonnie Kilroe’s decision to become a celebrity impersonator was based out of necessity.
“I was in the film industry and not making enough money and I had this as a weird talent,” Kilroe said. “I combined all the things I loved to.”
On Saturday (Sept. 20) Kilroe will be impersonating everyone from Dolly Parton to Mae West and Lady Gaga in her performance, Diva: Vegas meets Vaudeville at the Royal Canadian Legion branch at 1630 East Wellington Rd.
“It’s a musical comedy, celebrity impersonation show with a ton of audience participation,” Kilroe said about the two-hour show. “It moves at a really fast pace and some of the impersonations are very authentic and others are a parody.”
Kilroe’s impersonations have taken her all over, including China and Mexico.
The show begins at 6 p.m. and tickets are $32.50. For more information, please visit www.celebrity-imposters.com.
