The Beach Boys perform two shows at the Port Theatre Wednesday (Aug. 21) and Aug. 22 at 7:30 p.m.

The Beach Boys have made music for half a century and their music has become an iconic representation of the California lifestyle.

The Beach Boys have sold more than 100 million records worldwide and received the Lifetime Achievement Award during the 2001 Grammy Awards.

Many of the songs have hit the top of the charts including Surfin’ U.S.A., Surfer Girl, California Girls and Good Vibrations.

The band is performing two concerts in Nanaimo to celebrate its musical milestone. The performances feature Mike Love and Bruce Johnston as well as Christian Love, Randell Kirsch, Tim Bonhomme, John Cowsill and Scott Totten.

The group performs Wednesday (Aug. 21) and Aug. 22 at 7:30 p.m. The Aug. 22 performance is sold out, but tickets are still available for Aug. 21 by calling 250-754-8550, at the Port Theatre box office or www.porttheatre.com.
