Old Man Luedecke brings his bango to Diners Rendezvous Monday (May 16).

Old Man Luedecke is heading back to where it all started.

The two-time Juno Award winner is offering fans a free download of his first recording, Mole in the Ground, during May.

The second Juno Award is for his fourth album My Hands Are on Fire and Other Love  Songs and he’ll perform some of those during a concert Diners Rendezvous Monday (May 16).

“I still play most of the songs,” he said of the first album.

Mole in the Ground was recorded in three hours in Halifax the winter after Luedecke returned from Dawson City, Yukon.

“It’s a very simple demo that my wife, Teresa, did the artwork for,” he said. “It was a local sensation that was encouraging enough to land me in the soup I’m in now.”

Mole in the Ground is available at www.oldmanluedecke.com.

Tickets to the Rendezvous show are $20/advance; $22/door. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Please call 250-740-1133.
