Album inspired by new outlook on life

Nanaimo musician Dean Boland records album of songs

A near-death experience led musician Dean Boland to live a life that is mindful of every moment.

He used his new outlook when creating a new album of music, called Soul Whispers, which he celebrates the release of with a concert May 11, 7:30 p.m., at Christ Community Church.

“Each day I hope to listen more, strive less, and enjoy the beauty that we all repeatedly encounter but do not see,” Boland said. “As much as I cannot be mindful of every moment, I can be thankful for the moments I do capture in a breath, a smile, a touch, a sound.”

Soul Whispers was produced by Grammy Award-winner Will Ackerman at his Imaginary Road Studios in Vermont.

Tickets are available at Arbutus Music, Fascinating Rhythm and at the door.
