Youth support kid’s charities, sports groups

NANAIMO: Youth Sticking Together group is doing its part to help others.

In addition to attempting to set a record for the world’s longest street hockey game, Nanaimo’s Youth Sticking Together is doing its part to help others.

The  group is hosting a beer and burger fundraiser Nov. 3 at the Old City Station Pub in support of B.C. Children’s Hospital, Kids Help Phone and the Nanaimo Curling Centre’s youth programs. Tickets are $15 and include a silent auction items, meat draws, 50/50 draws and more.

“We want to show the community that youth can be a positive force for change, to counteract some of the negative attitudes that exist about young people today,” said Tali Campbell, board president.
