Women’s show draws hundreds

The West Coast Women’s Show was held March 4-5 at the Beban Park social centre.

The West Coast Women’s Show was a hit with the ladies again this year.

The event, held March 4-5 at the Beban Park social centre, drew hundreds of attendees.

The event included 10 seminars and more, noted Trish Newton-Segal, show organizer, in a press release.

“Only at the West Coast Women’s Show can you shop for jewelry and fashions, take in a seminar, find a new job opportunity or enjoy a relaxing massage,” she said.

Mercedes Lane won the best display award, with the Nanaimo Women’s Business Network taking second and third going to Sarah Bowman Photography.

Winnie Nq of Nanaimo won the grand prize draw of a Grotto Spa escape at Tigh-Na-Mara Seaside Spa Resort.

The event raised $1,200 for Haven Society, which provides services to women, children, youths and families who have experienced violence.
