Dover Bay Secondary School student Hareem Masroor meets Prime Minister Stephen Harper during Remembrance Day ceremonies in Ottawa last month.
Masroor won a national essay contest hosted by the Royal Canadian Legion and travelled to Ottawa to represent the youth of Canada by placing a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Masroor, who is studying for a bachelor of science degree at Vancouver Island University, will have her essay displayed at the war museum in Ottawa.
