Veterans get free oil change

NANAIMO – Mr. Lube location offers free oil change to veterans on Nov. 10.

On Nov. 10, Nanaimo’s Mr. Lube location will be one of 100 across Canada offering free oil changes to Canadian Armed Forces veterans.

The program was first implemented in Kelowna in 2014 and so well-received by the community that Mr. Lube decided to extend the program across B.C. last year. This year, the corporation has extended the promotion nationwide to 100 participating stores.

“The women and men who choose to serve Canada deserve our respect,” David Ticknor, Mr. Lube Vancouver franchise owner, said in a press release. “It’s the least we can do to show our appreciation and thank some of the most honourable and deserving veterans in the province.”

To received a free warranty-approved oil change at Mr. Lube on Nov. 10, veterans or current military individuals must provide Canadian service ID or have a veteran licence plate.

“I am extremely grateful and appreciative that Mr. Lube would recognize the service of our veterans,” said J.P. Seymour, a retired Canadian lieutenant-colonel.

Nanaimo’s Mr. Lube is located at 10 Terminal Ave., at Comox Road.
