Talk on climate change planned

One of Canada’s foremost proponents of climate change, Richard Littlemore, will be speaking in Nanaimo Monday (Feb. 28) at a public meeting organized by the Canadian Federation of University Women.

Investigative journalist, award-winning author, consultant, and Al Gore-trained educator, Littlemore will be addressing the topic Climate Change: The Systemic Art of Denial.

CFUW-Nanaimo brings Littlemore to Nanaimo to stimulate an ongoing discussion about a topic that is so important to the future of the planet.

Littlemore will talk about strategies used to plant doubt in the public’s mind about the causes of global warming, will show how that doubt is used, and who benefits from the confusion that ensues.

He will draw from material in his new award-winning book, Climate Cover-up: The Crusade to Deny Global Warming, written with co-author James Hoggan, chairman of the David Suzuki Foundation.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 4225 Departure Bay Rd. All are welcome to hear Littlemore’s presentation.
