NANAIMO – Country Grocer raised more than $14,000 for Help Fill a Dream Foundation.

The live’s of 10-month-old Alexander Walker, his father James, front left, and mother Megan were made a little easier after Alexander’s premature birth, with assistance from the Help Fill a Dream Foundation, represented by Craig Smith, executive director, and Country Grocer, represented by Peter Cavin, director.

Country Grocer raised $14,124 with a Dream Cakes sales and Christmas tree chipping campaign to provide 156 nights accommodations for the Walkers at Janeese Place while Alexander was in Victoria General Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. A celebration was held at Country Grocer’s Bowen Road store Wednesday.
